RenderMan Pro Server
One of RenderMan Studio's biggest features is the
ability to render directly to RenderMan Pro Server (by being able to
export RIB). In the case of most studios, RenderMan Studio is used by
artists and TDs to export 3D data to RenderMan Pro Server to be rendered
on a renderfarm.

Render Internally
RenderMan Studio also has an optional internal
renderer (similar to RenderMan for Maya). The internal renderer can be
an advantage when rendering local renders for shading and lighting. It
also requires less technical setup than RenderMan Pro Server.
